Op de site van het vazenforum: http://potteryandglass.forumandco.com kunnen verzamelaars ook recente vondsten plaatsen die ze bijvoorbeeld op een rommelmarkt hebben gekocht. Vooral de Duitse mensen plaatsen foto's van zulke bijzondere vazen en andere voorwerpen van keramiek die je in Nederland op een rommelmarkt niet vaak zal tegenkomen. Ik vroeg aan één van deze personen, hij woont in Wiesbaden, hoe dat komt en hieronder volgt zijn antwoord:
On the website of the vase forum: http://potteryandglass.forumandco.com collectors can post recent discoveries they bought on flea markets for example. Especially Germans often post photographs of similar special vases and other ceramic objects that you will not often come across in flea markets in the Netherlands. I asked one of these persons who lives in Wiesbaden, how this is possible. You will read his reply below:
Hello Angelo,
I am surprised by what I am able to find at the local
fleamarkts here in Germany. But this area has been historically a wealthy area
so maybe the people here were able to buy and decorate their homes more than
most families. As for exports to Holland after the war...I am sure that the
exports to your country were fewer. There were restrictions and strong feelings
against the German government, their products, etc....for good reason in those
times. Those things are most likely the reasons I find so much here compared to
the German pottery available in Holland.
Lastly, sorry but I plan to keep the bull.
